  • Three children and three adults were killed following a mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville's Green Hills neighborhood on Monday morning, officials said. The suspected shooter, who was fatally shot by police, was identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale from Nashville, authorities said.

  • The 1,700-acre South Carolina hunting lodge where Alex Murdaugh, once a prominent lawyer in the state, killed his wife and younger son has sold for $3.9 million, according to a sale deed. Murdaugh was convicted earlier this month of killing his wife Maggie Murdaugh and son Paul at the rural estate.

  • Philadelphia officials say the city's water is safe to drink for now after a chemical spill in a local river. A pipe ruptured on Friday at chemical plant Trinseo PLC, leaking hazardous material into a tributary of the Delaware River, a source of water for millions of people.

  • The assets and loans of collapsed US lender Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) are being bought by rival First Citizens BancShares. Investors welcomed the deal, sending First Citizens shares up more than 40%.

  • California lawmakers approved the nation's first penalty for gas price gouging, voting to give regulators the power to punish oil companies for profiting from the type of price spikes that hit Californians last summer.

  • The Florence museum that houses Michelangelo's statue of David has invited teachers and students from a Florida school to visit, after an uproar over an art lesson. The school's principal quit after a complaint about a sixth-grade art class that included an image of the statue.
